A Note from Javier Cano, Chairman, Los Angeles Tourism Marketing District

LATMD hotels within the Los Angeles Tourism Marketing District (LATMD) have reason to celebrate as we look in the rear view mirror at another record-breaking year with 2014 year-end occupancy of 80.7%. 

The outlook for 2015 is equally bright, with expanded consumer advertising launching this month in domestic markets, increased international marketing activities, and a new meetings campaign on the horizon.

The LATMD Board of Directors continues its focus on renewal of the TMD in 2016 to ensure that the marketing and sales momentum gained as a result of the LATMD is sustained in the future. The LATMD Management Plan will remain largely the same, with provisions to extend to a ten-year term and provide flexibility to increase or decrease the capped assessment over the life of the term. As you recall, these were the recommendations made by the LATMD Hotel Steering Committee comprised of 28 hoteliers from all regions, after a full series of meetings last year. As soon as the Management Plan is processed by the city, we will be contacting you for your support.

We also ended last year with strong attendance at the Regional LATMD Hotel meetings held in the Valley, Hollywood, Westside, Downtown and in the LAX/Coastal region.
