LA LOVE Update and Registration

On the heels of Los Angeles County’s declaration that leisure travel can resume, the Los Angeles Tourism Board is working on a marketing initiative designed exclusively for Members that aims to jump-start the local tourism economy.

Our research insights tell us Angelenos have growing “cabin fever” while being fearful of traveling long distances. Consequently, this initiative is focused on Angelenos. Our objective is to encourage locals to become tourists in their own backyard, opting for a “staycation” that also supports those working in our leisure & hospitality industry.

We know that if every employed Angeleno stayed in a hotel, dined out, and visited a museum just three times it would generate $1.4 billion in revenue to the county and have the potential to create more than 20,000 jobs. 

If your hotel is open or plans on opening its doors soon, there are a few pieces of key information we’re hopeful to receive from you. This information will be populated on a dedicated landing page at discoverlosangeles.com and amplified across our social platforms and P.R. efforts. 

  • Your hotel's opening date as well as a link to your safety protocols and procedures being put in place at your business.
  • A special promotion, rate, discount or amenity that’s created exclusively for local residents that would be valid through the month of August (this is not mandatory but important for the success of our upcoming program).

We clearly recognize that this unprecedented pandemic has had a negative impact on your business and fully understand if you’re unable to extend a promotional offer at this time.  We do feel, however, that an extra incentive will be a deciding factor for Angelenos choosing between a “staycation” or traveling out-of-market to another destination. These offers are a focal point of this initiative.
